History
Our University, Faculty, and Study Program
2006 – NOVEMBER
Universitas Multimedia Nusantara was officially established on November 20, 2006, with four (4) Faculties, namely the Faculty of Arts and Design, the Faculty of Information and Technology (ICT), and the Faculty of Communication Studies, and the Faculty of Economics.
2007 – SEPTEMBER
Before becoming a separate study program, the Film Study Program was a specialization of the Visual Communication Design study program, namely animation. It started the first batch of lectures on September 3, 2007.
2008 – SEPTEMBER
This year, the Faculty of Arts and Design added one (1) new specialization, Digital Cinematography, under the auspices of the Visual Communication Design Study Program.
2016 – SEPTEMBER
Specializations in Animation and Digital Cinematography are combined into a separate study program under the Faculty of Arts and Design, which was inaugurated by SK DIKTI no. 88/KPT/I/2016 under the name Television and Film Study Program. The television and Film Studies Program has two (2) specializations, namely Film and Animation.
2018 – FEBRUARY
Television and Film Studies Program proposes changing the study program’s name to Film Studies Program.
2018 – MAY
The Film and Television Study Program won the title of Accreditation B from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) based on Decree No. 1441/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/V/2018 and 1442/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/V/2018.

What is Film UMN?
The Film Study Program of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara is a Bachelor’s Degree (S-1) study with the degree of Bachelor of Art (Sarjana Seni / S.Sn.). It offers future-oriented majors, which are Film and Animation. Students will learn technical matters such as making stories, using cameras, compiling and editing images, and skills that support good and quality filmmaking. In addition to learning how the film production process is carried out, the Film study program also teaches marketing techniques in the film industry to students, as young filmmakers, in order to understand the next step after producing a film. This study program is a forum for students who want to become young filmmakers in understanding the process of making quality films and the current development of the film industry.

These majors explore interdisciplinary courses of study ranging from technical matters to marketing strategies in the film industry. The Goals
Forming a Bachelor of Arts with high competence in the field of Film and Animation based on virtuous character, the archipelago culture, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to adapt to the world.
Producing scientific works in the field of Art in the form of research results, designs, proceedings, and scientific journals, both digitally and traditionally, that are beneficial to society and industry.
Utilizing the Arts knowledge to serve the communities through student activities, program activities, and alumni activities.

Film UMN has various advantages under the vision of the University as follows:
Excellence in the vision of producing competent, creative, and innovative graduates, both in hard skills and soft skills, who are capable of being independent and competitive, having a global perspective and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as participating in preserving the nation’s cultural roots that have Indonesia’s characteristics and uniqueness.
Excellence in the vision of producing graduates whose competence fits the specialization of the Film study program, namely Film and Animation, which refers to the National Competency Standard (NCS).
Excellence in the vision of producing graduates who have a fundamental basis in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), where the alumni of the Film study program will have the ability to operate various media, as well as high sensitivity and adaptive power in the development of information and technology.
Excellence in the vision of producing graduates with an entrepreneurial spirit, where the main goal after students graduate is to be able to live independently, have leadership skills, and have a competitive entrepreneurial talent in their fields as well as have the ability to be professional and be able to innovate in their creative areas.
Excellence in the vision of producing graduates with a virtuous character, high human values, a sense of caring, a good attitude, instilling moral values, and togetherness. These character values are the basis for attitudes that support hard skill competencies value so that graduates have good character and are human-oriented in helping others.
Our Faculty of Arts and Design
In accordance with UMN vision, the Faculty of Arts and Design expected the graduates to produce creative, competent and internationally-oriented skills in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based Art, entrepreneurial and noble character.
Currently, there are 3 undergraduate programs under the Faculty of Art and Design: Visual Communication Design, Film, and Architecture.

Program Aims | The UMN Film Study Program encourages students to become storytellers and content creators by making Films (live-action), Animation, and combining the two (Hybrid). In addition to learning production techniques, students will also learn supporting theories to deepen their knowledge to become reliable conceivers. The UMN Film Study program also provides the students with business and entrepreneurial expertise in favor of creating sustainable arts in terms of business. |

Brand Identity
Philosophy & Identity
The identity of Film refers to the Faculty of Art and Design of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara identity, which is represented by a triangular shape designed by considering the level of sustainability in meeting the development needs of the faculty in the future. The meaning of this triangle shape is the motivation to improve its image as a leading educational institution in improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia.
Logo
The triangle pointing to the upper left ( ◤ ) represents the cutting-edge value, which is to become the foremost pioneer in using the latest technology to produce innovative works.
Color
The primary color is purple, which represents the value of using technology. The combination of red color means the enthusiasm of the Film Study Program students in working with the use of technology.
Variant
Vertical Variant
The main logo variant is used with vertical text configuration below the logo and on media requiring shorter width.
Horizontal Variant
This variant is used for particular purposes on media that require shorter height.

User Guide
The use of Film and Animation identity must follow the rules and prohibitions contained in the following section to maintain consistency and professionalism.
Rules
1. Size and Distance
The identity must have an empty area limit on each side specified at least three times a triangle, which intended to maintain balance and legibility in the identity displayed.
2. Acronym Variant
When there is a UMN logo, the vertical variant will be used for consistency. The acronym aims to lighten the visual burden (the acronym explanation has been included in the UMN logo).
3. Full Variant
This variant is used for publication needs to external parties if the UMN logo is not included as a companion.
4. Diapositive Variant
This variant is used for colored backgrounds or other purposes, e.g., stamps or black and white print media.
5. Use on photo background
Prioritize using a diapositive variant logo on a transparent/semi-dark background with many colors for contrast.
